The Kiran watermelon and Kiran watermelon have a smooth, dark green andrelatively thin outer rind with subtle dark green to black stripes running thelength of the fruit. The Kiran is a slightly darker color with fainter stripesthan the original Kiran and also grows to be slightly larger at full maturity.The Kiran watermelon can be globular or oblong in shape and has a thinner innerrind than other varieties of watermelon. Kiran watermelon has a vibrant pink tored flesh with dark brown-black seeds. Its juicy flesh is sweet at 12 to 14percent sugar content and it offers a slightly grainy texture. Watermelon Kiranis an unusual fruit source of the carotenoid lycopene and a rich source ofphenolic antioxidants.Watermelon is a very good source of vitamin C.
